What Inspired Us?

Panda dial watches, characterised by their iconic black-on-white design and chronograph movements, have captivated watch collectors since the 1960s.

Legendary models like the Rolex Daytona Cosmographs designed for use by racing drivers, and famously worn by actor-racer Paul Newman, have made a significant mark in the horological world. With their timeless appeal, these watches are a must-have for any enthusiast with a passion for cars.

At MHD, we've taken this classic design and infused it with our unique modern twist in the form of the Daily Driver. After all, who wouldn't want a piece that channels the timeless cool of Paul Newman?

What Is It?

The Daily Driver Panda is powered by a Seiko VK64 Hybrid Meca-Quartz movement and features the distinctive black and white design reminiscent of panda eyes. Our timepiece draws inspiration from the 1960s chronographs with a modern edge, featuring a DLC black bezel and a layered case design.

The exoskeleton, lightweight chassis case adds a contemporary twist to this classic look and is paired with a retro racing red quick release perforated leather rally strap.

The matte white dial, with black sub-dials and MHD’s “in the red zone” signiture dial graphic from 8 to 11pm, features laser-cut holes revealing vintage-colored Super-LumiNova on the lower dial for a bright nighttime glow. The precision hands also include Super-LumiNova, enhancing visibility in the dark.

MHD Watches are designed in the UK by Automotive Designer MatthewHumphries, who at 21 was made the Chief designer at Morgan Motor Company.

Matthew is best known for designing cars such as the stunning Morgan Aeromax, Morgan Aero Supersports and the Morgan 3 wheeler and still works as a freelance vehicle and product designer.

Established in 2014, MHD Watches is an independent British watch brand that produces limited-edition motoring watches with an engineered design aesthetic.

MHD sell exclusively direct to you the customer, which puts the customer directly in touch with the watchmaker and takes out all the expensive middlemen.
